Ninik shows her mushrooms
PROBOLINGGO, BERITAKATA.id – Ninik Mufarihah, a housewife who often feels upset when her husband leaves her at sea, has turned her worries into productive activities.
From her productivity, she is able to earn up to tens of millions of rupiah a month.
Ninik, as she is called, is an oyster mushroom farmer who lives in Pajarakan Kulon Village, Pajarakan District, Probolinggo Regency.
The sale of her oyster mushroom seeds has reached various areas from Sabang to Merauke. While the sale of oyster mushrooms itself is spread in Probolinggo Regency.
A day, Ninik is able to harvest one quintal of oyster mushrooms. The turnover she gets from mushroom cultivation can reach Rp. 20-45 million in a month. Most of the turnover she gets comes from selling mushroom seeds.
From that cultivation, Ninik was able to employ five local residents to run the business she was involved in.
Ninik is not stingy with knowledge. She is ready to teach how to cultivate mushrooms if anyone wants to learn and it is free.
She also explained how to make oyster mushroom seeds and grow them until they could be harvested when duta.co visited her house, Thursday (27/10/2022).
When asked where she got the knowledge about oyster mushroom cultivation. Ninik admits that she does not want to fall into the trap of losing her husband to work at sea. She also heard about training in oyster mushroom cultivation held by PT Paiton Energy (PE) – PT Paiton Operation & Maintenance Indonesia (POMI) several years ago.
“I used to be a participant in the training and this has really provided tremendous benefits. In fact, even during the pandemic, oyster mushroom cultivation really helped me," explained Ninik.
Thanks to the training, Ninik was also named the 1st Winner of the 2016 Entrepreneur Award, the Young category.
“This community empowerment program to help local MSMEs really benefits the surrounding community. It is even able to absorb workers," said Ninik. ig/fat
